Italo Ferreira wins in Portugal
14 November, 2019Teresa Padilla ratifies Spain’s Bodyboard Championship
25 November, 2019Dear surfers Caroline Marks, the Rookie we talked about a couple of weeks ago has done it again. At only 17 years of age, Caroline Marks has won here second event of the season at the MEO Rip Curl Pro Portugal. The first event that she won was the first one in the season, at the Gold Coast, and since then she hadn’t won another one until now but she still is third in the rankings !!!
Caroline Marks is making our prediction a little bit more difficult. As we said some weeks ago on the Women’s Tour 2019 Prediction post, we thought that Carissa Moore from Hawaii was going to win the 2019 season and she can still do of course, as she remains number 1 with only one more event to go in Maui, but in the last event Moore ended up 3rd and Marks 1st so Caroline climbed up one position with her 10.000 points earned.
And now what? Well as we said there is only one more event to go at Maui and Carissa Moore is 1st with 58,600 points followed bya strong Lakey Peterson from the US that has 55,125. But the fact remains that Caroline Marks, the rookie of 17 years old is third with 53,410 points. So as you can imagine, everything can happen between these girls. Sally Fitzgibbons is 4th but she is a bit far away from number 1 as she has 48,959 points.
So what will happen? The last event, the Lululemon Maui Pro of Hawaii is due for Nov 25 – Dec 6 and the defending champion is Carissa Moore, something that makes it even more difficult for the other women. But who knows? Here at Atlantik Surf we’ll inform you about what happens ! And if you like surfing but you haven’t tried it yet, why not book some surfing lessons in Tenerife during the winter?
