Stephanie Gilmore

Stephanie Gilmore

Stephanie Gilmore  (Jan 29, 1988) from Kingscliff, NSW, Australia, is currently one of the most brilliant surfers in history. She is the only person who has won a World Title on her rookie season back in 2007. After this incredible landmark, Gilmore one three more World Titles in a row, making 4 straight world title wins (2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010).

According to the WSL, Stephanie Gilmore has a very similar style to fellow Gold Coast master Joel Parkinson, as they both are aggresive and technical. She is one of three daughters, the youngest one from Murwillumbah, Tweed River, separating New South Wales from Queensland.

Her first years of surfing were dedicated to learn at Coolangata’s legendary points, a spot that is home to the one of the most crowded and competitive lineups in the world. She learned to mingle with other surfers and impress them too, many of them already knew that she’d become someone important in the world of surfing, but maybe they didn’t realize that she was going to be the best rookie in history, and perhaps, one of the best female surfers ever to live.

When it comes to fashion and social networks, she is also highly followed. She is adored in every sense and in every country. But she doesn’t stop training and wanting to be number 1. In 2019, after her 2018 1st position, she has matched Layne Beachley for most women’s World Titles in history (7). You can read more about Stephanie Gilmore on the official WSL page, or right here.
