Who Offers the best Surfing Lessons in Tenerife?

Surfing lessons Tenerife

A couple of months ago we published a post called Which is the best surf school in Tenerife, and I think, after seeing that Google ranked it 1st on their Spanish Serps, that it was a good idea not only for us but for the entire surfing community in the island of Tenerife. All the listed surfing schools got a free link from our site and perhaps, one or two referal visits from Atlantik Surf, so this time we want to make a post about who offers the best surfing lessons in Tenerife. There are plenty of Surfing schools providing surfing lessons in Tenerife, but for me these are the best 4, let’s get on with it then…

  1. ATLANTIK SURF: Honestly, Atlantik Surf offers the best surfing lessons in Tenerife and you know why? Because it isn’t based in any particular beach, among plenty of other reasons. If you are beginning to learn about surf and everything surrounding it, you will notice that waves are fickle, they won’t always be waiting for you at the same beach or break. This is why Atlantik Surf created a Mobile Surf School, an Itinerant Surfing School in Tenerife, so that students can get the best waves for them in the island. What’s the point of staying in one single beach if there are no waves to practice? Atlantik Surf picks-up all students in Puerto de la Cruz very early in the morning and takes them to the best waves in the island. You can take a look at the Rates here.  Atlantik Surf doesn’t admit children Under 16.
  2. SECRET SURF SCHOOL: Apart from their cool name, they also give good surfing lessons in Tenerife. They are in a Southern area called El Porís de Abona where there are good waves for beginners although it can get a bit rough during winter. It’s a good spot to learn to surf. You can take a private class for 70€, take a look at their rates here.
  3. TENERIFE SURF SCHOOL:  These guys are in the touristic part of Las Américas, which is great for some people, and awful for others. It depends on what you are looking for. Tenerife isn’t only the south, in fact, you won’t be able to say that you know the island if you have only stayed in the south. The north of the Island is pure nature, different waves and different climate. The south is just a dessert with waves that has become a touristic paradise, but apart from discos, pubs and beaches, there is really nothing else to see. All the good natural attractions and cities are in the north.
  4. BLACKSTONE SURF CAMP: After Atlantik Surf, this is my favourite because they are different as told before, they don’t focus on a single beach and they don’t focus only on Surfing. They have a Surf House for you to stay and meet new people, so it’s not just surfing lessons in Tenerife, it’s about spending a good surfing and skating/snorkeling holiday which makes it quite attractive. Take a look at them here !
