26 September, 2018Julian Wilson wins in France and tightens world title
15 October, 2018The Quicksilver PRO France is on and as you know there are only 3 events to go ! Who won the 2017 edition in France? Gabriel Medina who is currently number 2. So if Gabriel Medina wins it again this time maybe he’s got a good chance to end up 1st in the table, depending on how Filipe Toledo performs, who is defending his 1st position.
Filipe Toledo has 49,785 points and is currently number 1 followed by Gabriel Medina with 45,685 points. And in third place is Julian Wilson from Australia, with 37,125 points. Wilson might also climb positions depending on his position at the Quicksilver Pro and on Medina and Toledo’s performance.
Conditions at the Quicksilver PRO are perfect right now, with good strong waves of 2 meters, off shore wind and good temperature with sunny days in Hossegor, which is on the west side of France, north side of Biarritz and Bayona.
When it comes to the women at the Roxy Pro France, Stephanie Gilmore is number 1 right now and if she gains a good result whe might celebrate the season’s title in the coming weeks as in the women’s ranking there are only two events more to go, here in France and the last one in Maui. She has aproximately 7 thousand points more than 2nd Lakey Peterson from USA and 20 thousand more than current numer 3rd, Tatiana Weston Webb.
Want to compete there in the future? Well start by taking some surfing lessons in Tenerife.
