Freshwater Pro is the World Surf League event that takes place in Kelly Slater’s Surf Ranch in California, perhaps the best surfing pool ever made, it produces extremely long tubes and powerful waves for the surfers to fly and make tricks, and so they did.
Gabriel Medina from Brazil had a spectacular performance after a massive 9.93 that nobody could surpass. Filipe Toledo, another surfer from Brazil ended up second and its no surprise as they are both 1st and 2nd after 9 events of 11. There are only two more left.
Owen Wright from Australia got third with a good performance as well and Jordy Smith from Southafrica was behind him but nowadays it seems that nothing can be done to beat the Brazilian surfers, at least in the men category.
Right now Gabriel Medina is 1st qualified followed by Filipe Toledo, both from Brazil. Third is Jordy Smith from South Africa. Fourth is another Brazilian called Italo Ferreira and 5th is Kolohe Andino from the United States of America. Kanoa Igarashi, from Japan, is sixth at only 13 thousand points away from the 1st position so these 6 surfers can end up champions of the world.
