25 September, 2017The Brazilian Filipe Toledo has won the Californian competition of Hurley Pro at Trestles in San Clemente. Many people thought the winner was going to be an american or californian surfer but the truth is that Brazilians Adriano de Souza, Filipe Toledo and Gabriel Medina are performing quite well this season and once again it was one of them who won the World Surf League 8th Event of the season, with only 3 more to go: Quicksilver PRO France, MEO Rip Curl PRO Portugal and the Billabong Pipe Masters.
In spite of Toledo’s win, South African Jordy Smith remains leader of the Men’s championship tour leaderboard, followed by John John Florence from Hawaii and Julian Wilson from Australia. Toledo climbed up from 9th to 7th and may end up in a much better position if he keeps on like this.
Matt Wilkinson, Owen Wright and Adriano de Souza are 4th, 5th and 6th respectively, and they also have something else to say, they will give their best to end up first at the end of the season, but will Jordy Smith let them surpass him? We’ll have to see.
As a tribute to Filipe Toledo’s win let’s see a video from him, and remember if you like surfing and you’d like to learn how to surf, why not come to Tenerife and learn tu surf perfect waves ?
