The time has come. From Atlantik Surf we’ve always supported women surfing, we’ve posted articles in support of their memory like the Female Surfing Legends post, and in that particular article we say that women have always been ready to surf big waves, they have the guts and skills to pay the bills !

Waimea Bay in Hawaii will host the second women’s big wave championship in history and it’ll start on the 1st of October. World’s most fearless female surfers will gather in Hawaii to prove what they are capable of, and it was just about time too. “Last season the Big Wave Tour added a women’s event for the first time at the Pe’ahi Challenge, which Maui’s Paige Alms won”, according to surfline.com.

Keala Kennelly, Paige Alms, Bianca Valenti, Felicity Palmateer, Justine Dupont and a list of 23 female surfers will fight against giant waves and compete against each other for the first time in history honoring Kuhina Nui Ka’ahumanu, a Hawaiian queen born on Maui in the 18th century. She dined with men in an era in which that wasn’t well seen, but she also surfed with them too. Now, 2 centuries later, 23 women surfers will honour her wit and skills in this amazing contest. We will inform you on the scores from Atlantik Surf, your place to learn to surf in Tenerife, Canary Islands.
