The first event of the season at Gold Coast Australia has given two Australian finalists: Adrian Buchan (2nd) and Julian Wilson (1st). Julian Wilson took the Chicken Dinner back home after an astonishing total score of 17.43 in the Final round. His best wave was given a 9.93 thanks to an incredible barrel.

Semifinals saw two surfers from Australia, who finally ended up in the final, Tomas Hermes from Brazil and Griffin Colapinto from the US. It is very difficult to beat Australians in their country, they know their waves, climate and conditions. They know their swells and waves. It’s not a coincidence that two Aussies ended up in the Final.

And now, we have to travel 1,728 kms , aprox. 1.000 miles from Gold Coast Australia to Bells Beach. Jordy Smith and Caio Ibelli were finalists last year at Bells Beach 2017, and Jordy ended up winning. Who will win this time?
