The Huntington Beach<\/strong> was the perfect setting for an exciting week of competition in which the two rivals, both the Brazilian and the Australian had to be drawn from a hat your best tricks to impress the jury and to the delight of tens of thousands of spectators who came to witness the event.<\/p>\n

Julian Wilson<\/strong> was, of course, winning just as it has been the most consistent throughout the competition, achieving the highest scores.<\/p>\n

The Australian eliminated in the quarterfinals Hawaiian prodigy John John Florence and then left by the wayside in the semifinal round of the Brazilian Gabriel Medina.<\/p>\n

In the final against Miguel Pupo, with waves three feet high, signed and a final spectacular sleeve, thus the third victory of his short career.<\/p>\n

In the women, the very young American Lakey Peterson<\/strong>, of just 17, achieved victory in the competition after winning the Hawaiian Carisa Moore in the final.<\/p>\n

In the WCT girls the Nike U.S. Open is the last event of the 2012 season.<\/p>\n
