Why I love Atlantik Surf

Hey everyone,

summer has finally arrived and with it the summer surf season! Atlantik Surf Cantabria is opening up in July and it’s time to testify 😉 So, what makes Atlantik Surf my preferred surf camp? And why is it even better this year?

First of all, it’s the feeling that makes Atlantik Surf such a special place for everyone. Some of the guests and staff come back every year, so it’s really a small family with Raissa as mamá 😀 What is really different from the surfcamps ins France is that it’s so international – there are Spainards, Germans, Danes, Swiss,… It’s a really nice mixture!

Second, it’s the area the camp is located in. Cantabria is just one of the most beautiful areas of Spain. Green hills and valleys develop into coves and cliffs – a little bit like northern Switzerland at the seaside. The camp is surrounded by nature and a bit off the beaten track, which is really good with Northern Spain becoming ever more popular among surfers. Still, nightlife is never far away with trips to nearby Noja being organized by the surfcamp at least once a week.

Third, the quality of teaching at Atlantik Surf is definitely among the best value for money available in Europe. Starting at 209€ for 20 lessons of surfing plus accommodation in nice Quechua tents is practically unbeatable! Surfing lessons are with groups of maximum 8 people and all the course material naturally is included. But that’s not all!  On top, the staff organizes evening activities and various sport activities are available such as ping pong or slackline. And that’s still not all! From this year on, you get 3 Yoga lessons per week FOR FREE! What more should I say… Check out the rates here.

Still not convinced? No worries – here comes reason number 4: The Camp Site! Camping Arenas is surrounded by meadows and still only a mere 10 minute walk form the beach. The Surfcamp itself offers a large community tent  with games and television for flat afternoons and a covered eating area with enough benches and tables to also spent comfortable nights and enjoy a couple of drinks – if you don’t feel like watching the sunset over the cliff for the 5th time this week 😉 While the campsite itself left little to complain the last years, it was apparently seriously upgraded during off season: They enlarged the pool (which now has 3 slides!) and added a Volleyball field and a small football field! What stays the same is the ridiculously large burgers they sell at the campsite’s diner – just don’t plan to go surfing after eating one of these!

I could go on talking about the high quality of the food, the surf lessons, the material,… – but I guess you get my overall point: Atlantik Surf was and is the best surfcamp I know and that for an unbeatable price. Be sure to book soon under this link!
