How to get to Atlantiksurf?

Our surfcamp is located in Ajo – Bareyo (Cantabria), east from Santander and near Cape Ajo, a very popular area also due to the amazing views and beautiful landscapes. Please remember that the arrival to the surfcamp (check-in) will be from 12 pm (noon) until 7 pm. Departure (check-out) will be done during the morning of the last Saturday of your stay, right after breakfast service and until 12 pm (noon).

Transfer Service

Ajo is a beautiful place and very close to the beach, but not as well connected with public transport as we would like. This is the reason why we offer a Transfer Service to and from the closest airports and stations to our surfcamp. Our prices, stated below, are for each way and shared between the people in the vehicle (max. 8 people).

Bilbao: 70 €

Santander: 30 €

Laredo: 25 €

Noja: 10 €
The payment of the transfer will be made in cash at the surfcamp and will be divided between the occupants of the vehicle. We try to allocate you in groups according to similar departure / arrival times to make iit more economical to you.
The Transfer Service from and to our surfcamp will take place on Saturdays between 11 am and 6 pm. It is not included in the surfcamp price, it is only requested as a remark in the booking and paid extra at the surfcamp. You will be contacted one week before your arrival date to confirm your arrival time and details.

Arriving by plane

The closest airports are in Santander and Bilbao. You can also fly to Madrid and from there take another flight to Santander or Bilbao.

From Bilbao airport to our SurfCamp there are 4 options:

  3. Bus to Bilbao bus station (see details below, BIZKAIABUS, 1.45€) +bus to Noja (www.alsa.es, one way ticket price is 5.30€) + our Transfer Service (details above, prices between 10€ and 1.25€ depending on how many passengers are sharing the journey)
  4. Bus to Bilbao bus station (see details below, BIZKAIABUS, 1.45€) + bus to Santoña (www.alsa.es , one way ticket costs 4.54€) + bus to Santander with stop in Ajo (see details below,www.autobusespalomera.com, price of one way ticket is 1,45€)

Bilbao airport is connected with the Bilbao bus station with the bus line A3247 of BIZKAIABUS every 30 minutes, the duration of the journey is approx. 15 minutes. Schedule: from Bilbao to Airport from 05.25 h to 21.55 h; from Airport to Bilbao from 06.15 h to 00.00 h.

Airlines, From/To

From Santander airport  to Atlantik Surf there are two arrival options:

  1. Our Transfer Service (see details above, prices between 30€ and 3.75€ depending on how many passengers share the jorney)
  2. Bus to Santander (www.alsa.es price of one way ticket is 2.50€) + Bus to Santoña with stop in Ajo (see details below, www.autobusespalomera.com, price of one way ticket is 3.05€)
Santander airport is connected with the Santander bus station with buses every 30 minutes (please check www.alsa.es), the duration of the journey is approx. 10 minutes. Schedule: from Santander to Airport from 06.40 h to 22.45 h; from Airport to Santander from 06.40 h to 23.00 h.

Arrival by train

The closest train stations are in Santander and Bilbao.

Santander has connections with the line operating the route Palencia-Valladolid- Segovia- Madrid.

Bilbao has connections with rail lines from La Rioja-Zaragoza and Burgos.

There are 4 options if you are arriving at the train station in Bilbao:

Metro from Abando to San Mamés and 5 minutes' walk to the Bilbao bus station (www.metrobilbao.net, single ticket is 1,50€) + bus to Laredo (www.alsa.es, one way ticket is 3,59 €) + our Transfer Service (see details above, prices between 25€ and 3,15€ depending on how many passengers are sharing the journey)
  3. Metro from Abando to San Mamés and 5 minutes' walk to the Bilbao bus station (www.metrobilbao.net, sigle ticket is 1,50€) + bus to Noja (www.alsa.es, one way ticket is 5,30€) + our Transfer Service /see details above, prices between 10€ and 1,25€ depending on how many passengers are sharing the journey)

Santander train station is next to the Santander bus station.

There are 2 options if you are arriving at the train station in Santander.

  2. Bus to Santoña with stop in Ajo (see details below, www.autobusespalomera.com, one way ticket is 3,05€)

Arrival by bus

The closest bus/coach stations are: Noja, Laredo, Santander and Bilbao by proximity to our surfcamp) These are buses arriving in Santander and Bilbao from other sities, for more details please check www.alsa.es

Arrival by car

You can plan your route with GoogleMaps The fastest route to Ajo is through the A8 highway, leaving at the exit 185 (Beranga-Noja). Once at the main road, just need to follow the indications to Noja, driving through the road CA-141 to Ajo.
